Executive Women of Lake Norman is asking for your help in raising $3500 to provide a working mother the chance to receive a college education through ANSWER Scholarship. This scholarship will be in honor and memory of our dear friend and EWLKN member, Lauren Kimsey.

Lauren’s Legacy

We lost Lauren on September 10, 2016 at the age of 39 after she lost her battle with Synovial Sarcoma. Lauren had strong ties to the Lake Norman community. She was the Director of Marketing at Aquesta Bank, an active Rotarian with the Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg, and enjoyed serving her community in Philanthropy through Executive Women of Lake Norman, Rotary, and Big Day at the Lake. Lauren would have been honored to know her name would be associated with helping a woman in need.

ANSWER Scholarship

ANSWER Scholarship is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit that began more than a decade ago.  Susan Andersen was able to put herself through college, in part, because of a four-year partial scholarship that she received from a Charlotte-based organization. Extremely grateful, she vowed to give back one day to the community that believed in her.

ANSWER has funded 83 scholarships to 44 women since 2006. Thanks to gifts from individuals, organizations, and houses of worship, more women are thriving personally and economically. We’ve helped remarkable mothers in the Charlotte region earn college degrees and become strong and self-sufficient. Their children are inspired to follow their moms’ example and work harder in school.
